Potential Power

Wind Turbine 1

Return to Main Page

Recently, (Jan '07) I started working on a windmill. Here is my first attempt for the blades.
They are made from 4 inch pvc pipe and they are about 2 feet long.
Now I need to make them a little more aerodynamic.

I decided to use only three of the blades.

Here is the arbor attached to the hub.

The body and the vain connected.

The generator installed on the body.

Close-up of the generator clamps.

Every wind turbine needs a tower.
This is the beginning of the tower. This piece is the pivoting connector to the main post.

Here is the bottom of the tower set in it's resting place. (Thanks Rick for welding the tower)

Cinder blocks and metal rods are welded to the bottom.

Now a layer of concrete to top it off.

Here is the completed tower.
The pivot at the bottom wil a get a 1 inch pipe attached to it, on which the turbine will sit.

A picture of it during daytime.

The Generator is also finishing completion.

And here is the finished product. Hooray. (March 7, 2007)

Here are a couple of pictures with a different set of pvc blades.>BR>

Here is a short video clip.
